Rumex acetosa
Common Sorrel
Rumex acetosa, Common Sorrel. Small Dock with an acidic taste due to oxalic acid (as in rhubarb). Used as a culinary herb in small quantities. Common on grassland. Small reddish flowers in summer and a distinctive shape to the leaf with basal lobes pointing backwards.
